Not to despair, they also tell us that the Steamboat is ready and Public Works is out there clearing the way.

Before the first snowfall

The Rockies Association has made some improvements to the Pool and Hot Tubs area. They added new tables, chairs and lounges and they have added beautiful annuals.

 

 

 

 

 

Now with the new carpet

Here are a few photo's of the living room with the new carpet installed.

And the renovations continue

This update is more functional than beautiful.

The new living room looks make the condo very warm and inviting but many of our previous guests will appreciate the changes we have made to the guest bathroom. We have almost doubled the size of the shower. We were able to create the bigger shower by opening the voided space next to the shower and installing a new Kohler pre-fab shower system. In addition, we fixed the pocket door and installed a new  Kohler "Ecosense" Toilet.

The new shower is a full 48" wide and 36" deep with new fixtures and a raised shower head.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

We also replaced the toilet in the master bathroom with another Kohler "Ecosense" toilet.

 

 

 

Our New Improvements

We have started our improvements to the Condo.

Lets start with or most significant. We have made major improvements to the living room. We installed a new, more efficient fireplace, mantle and hearth. We covered the adjacent wall with "tongue and groove" and finally we installed new carpet in the living room and dining room.

I noted it as almost the final reveal because we left before the carpet and the fireplace were installed so the picture doesn't show the final view. That photo will have to come later.

Not pretty but I bet you notice the difference!

New Toilets!

Yes, that's right, we are replacing the old toilets in both bathrooms. The new ones will be more comfortable and are much more water conscious. It's a small change but I bet you notice when you come back!

A New Fireplace

A whole new look

We have decided to make some major changes to the living room. We are going to replace the fireplace with a more efficient model. While we are at it we are going to remove the current structure and replace it with a new mantle and hearth. In addition to making the living room more spacious we hope to make it more aesthetically appealing.

Here is a view of our backyard as the snow is falling. At the time that I took this video we had only had 41 inches of snow.

82" of Snow

That's right, 82 inches of snow since December 01, 2012! Although we were off to a slow start in December Steamboat has seen a ton of snow. We have received 36" in the last week. If you have had a chance to check out the Steamboat Web Cams go to Steamboat WebCams The snow is falling!

It's Been a While!

We have been busy preparing for the season. We are completing our first trip of the season and thought we should share some pictures.

This is the view out the back door. If you look closely you will notice it is snowing. Since we have been here we have gotten over 20" of snow.

The Kitchen

Our updated kitchen

 

The Kitchen features new dinnerware, cookware, refrigerator with ice maker and kitchen appliances.

 

 

The dining room seats 6 and the breakfast bar seats 3. We have high speed B/G/N wireless WIFI available as well LAN connection.

 

Living Room

Let's take a look at the living room.

 

We replaced the sofa with a brand new queen sleeper sofa. For added seating comfort, we added a leather love seat.

 

The living room is very spacious offering plenty of room to move around and still comfortable seating for everyone to enjoy.

 

We have a brand new Television with Comcast Cable. The BlueRay DVD player is Netflix and VUDU capable and we have a limited DVD library.

Pool and Hot Tubs are heated yearound

The pool area is located just outside our patio door. It's close to walk to but the barrier wall keeps the noise away. The pool and hot tubs are heated during the summer and the winter so its always a refreshing trip.

 

 

Master Bedrooms

Both Bedrooms feature all new linens and bedclothes.

 

 

We have new artwork throughout the condo. 

 

The televisions in both bedrooms are new

LED and feature a built in DVD player.
